Alyrin Delling

Mirai Kishida

"Beautiful Lightning"

"Broken Wings"

Long ago, the first angels and demons used modified human souls to wage proxy wars with each other. These souls are chained to the Earth, the ancient battlefield, unable to return to the worlds in which they were forged. Instead, when they die, they are simply reborn in new bodies, with new lives, but the sparks of their memories buried deep within their hearts -- only awaiting the chance to rekindle and burn the world to ash.

Who Are the Ascended?

Mirai's golden eyes have seen the end firsthand. Together with her guardian angel, Terradyn, she has scoured the world searching for the "Keystone"-- the soul capable of opening Heaven's Gate, and making sure that he, or she, never has the opportunity to do so. Haunted by her dark past, she relies on her twin swords "Past" and "Present" to ensure that humanity has a future.

Lifetimes ago, Alyrin Delling was a hero betrayed by those she championed. Lost to despair, she threw away her soul, yielding it to her angel, and removed herself from the troubles of the world. In the intervening centuries, the angel has run amok with Alyrin's body and unique divine power -- the ability to forever purge Ascended souls from existence.

Jennsen Wraist grew up together with Seven, and the two were always together. It was Jennsen who recruited Seven into his anti-terrorist unit, Shadow Soul, greatly shaping his friend's future.

Despite all this, relatively little is known about Jennsen Wraist, or how he got involved with the mysterious organization -- or why they have such keen interest in "The Keystone", the soul known as Seven Kharaos.

Despite his unique name, nothing causes Seven Kharaos to stick out in particular -- growing up in a tiny, rural town in the middle of Nowhere, U.S.A., he took the first chance he got to leave: a military contractor company co-commanded by his best friend, Jennsen Wraist.

Haunted by prophetic dreams, Seven chose to wander the world to either confirm or  -- hopefully -- deny those nightmares. Empty-handed after years of search, he decided at last to return home.
